Almost 3 deaths and some turkey :-)

So finally on Friday when classes ended I got to go home. I don’t know why but I wanted to go home so badly. I had had enough of my classes and just wanted to relax and see my family. I had been counting down the days till I got to go home for almost 3 weeks before I actually got to go home. I got home and was able to see my family and friends, got to cut my hair, and got to sleep in my own bed. I spent the three days I had before I went to West Virginia seeing friends and catching up with everyone. On Tuesday afternoon we loaded up the two cars and headed up to WV. Took us a little over seven hours to get to my grandpa’s farm but we made it. Our cousins who live near us in Virginia were also on their way to the farm and arrived about thirty minutes we did. My uncle is a huge fan of ATVs and so he brought 4 of his 5 ATVs with him here so we could go riding. Because he brought his four ATVs and my grandpa has one himself, we had five for the 11 of us. Within ab hour of my uncle getting here, we were out riding. Jason, Jordan, my little brother, and I all jumped on 3 of the ATVs and rode off to the top of the mountain. We were flying all over the farm. We all haven’t been here in a few years and were so excited to get to go riding on the trails and everything. We flew up the mountain, found all the old trails, and were having a blast. I don’t know why, but I love riding and flying on and jumping the ATVs every chance I can. We made it through the first day with no injuries and decided we would build a fire up on the top of the mountain and all sit around it and talk. We started the fire around 6pm, once it was dark, and kept the fire going until my uncle and I returned to the houses around 4am. People slowly returned to the house and went to bed and by about 12am it was just my uncle, my cousin Jason, and I sitting around the fire. Jason went to sleep around 2am and like I said before my uncle and I talked for about another 2 hours just admiring the fire. The reason I stayed with my uncle was because he had had a few beers and recently he has purchased a 9mm handgun which he had on his side. Therefore I figured alcohol and a new gun were 2 things that did not mix. So I decided I would stay with him until I know he was in bed asleep and the gun was in his car. So anyways, we finally decided to head back to the farm and since he had been drinking I had suggested he just ride with me, but ofcourse he wanted to drive his own. So he did and I decided I would ride close behind to keep my eye on him. he ended up missing one of the trails we needed to take by like 5 ft because he turned late and ran straight into a stump. He immediately flipped over the handle bars and from behind all I could see where his feet in the air. I was worried he had slammed his face into the front of his ATV on the metal bars but luckily he stopped before hitting them. I think he hit it because he was going too fast for him to be able to react to the situations thrown at him. I decided I would take the lead and go slow and force him to go slow as well. We finally got back to the house in one piece and went to bed. At this point it was a little after 4 and I ended up being woken up for breakfast around 10am. I went over the other house and had breakfast with everyone. Immediately after my cousins and I were finished eating we jumped on the ATVs again and were off. We rode around all day until about lunch time when we came back to eat and then we were off again. All we basically did was ride all day. the next issue that was close to a disaster occurred after lunch when we went back to the top of the mountain. My little brother has been riding and driving ATVs every year we come up here and so when we were on the top he asked to ride our grandpa’s ATV. This is the one he always rides, so I had no problem with it. he was riding around and was being careful and so I decided I could ride around as well. I ended up taking my eyes off him for a few minutes and next time I look, he is rolling down the side of a valley and the ATV he was on is speeding down the hill by itself. I took off and went to him first and saw if he was ok. He said he was fine, so I sped down the valley to try to catch the other ATV, but by the time I could catch it it had hit a tree and had stopped by hitting a barb-wire fence. It was messed up. The tie-rod on the left front wheel was bent, the front was all scratched up, the boots on the front suspension were torn, and the rim of the left tire which ht the tree was all bent up. My brother said his arm hurt and said he was in a lot of pain, but he is always a baby when it comes to pain so I told him to suck it up and that he was fine. He rode with my back to the house and immediately we told my mom about the accident. A few minutes later my grandpa, uncle, and dad got home from their off-roading adventure and we told them. Everyone was first worried about my little brother and his arm and how it was swollen and bruised. My mom got all worried so she took him to the nearest hospital which was like an hour away where they x-rayed it and found that he had actually broken his arm in 3 places. He broke the larger bone in his forearm clean through and also snapped the smaller bone in the same forearm twice, once near his wrist and the other further down his arm. This was the second death frightening accident/incident. So after my brother accident and my uncle hitting a stump, we were down 2 ATVs. My dad ended up burning up the belt on one of the other ATVs because he was climbing hills with it in the high gear and so now we had to stop using that one too. Great, so now we were down 3 ATVs, and only had 2 left. This is where the final accident occurred leaving us with only on working ATV by the end of this trip. The final issue was on the last day my cousins were here, Friday. We had brought a cooler up to the top of the mountain and it was my uncle’s cooler. He was leaving soon, so around 3 he began to pack up his and asked my cousin Jason and I to run take the 2 working ATVs and go up to retrieve the cooler. The ATV my cousin was on was an 800 twin turbo and the ATV I was on was only a 350. So his flew down the trail and went way ahead of where I could see him. Finally I got to a point in which I should have been able to see him on the trail and didn’t. I stopped for a second to look around and I looked up a steep hill to the right a little. He had managed to ride up it, turn sideways, and roll the ATV over onto himself against a tree. I put mine in park and could hear him yelling for me. I ran up the hill best I could and rolled the ATV back up the hill to get it off of him. He got out and was ok. No blood, but he was a little banged up. He was so shaken up, he had me ride it back down the hill onto the trail. There we discovered that the side panels had fallen off, the rear seat was bent in half backwards, the throttle had snapped off, the seats were ripped open, the body was scratched, there was a deep scratch in the gas tank, the handle bars were bent and twisted, and the winch control had been bent down and sideways off the handlebars. This was a brand new ATV before this trip. My uncle had bought it only about a month before coming to WV. Because it was obvious that things were broken off it, I rode back and got his dad and told him how we wrecked and so he took the ATV and rode up to make sure his son was ok. I ran up the trail after them to get back and help anyway I could. I ended up riding up the mountain and getting the cooler and then coming back down to tow the ATV home with the ATV I was on. We loaded up all the ATVs on my uncle’s trailer and no one could believe that in not even 3 full days we managed to destroy 4 out of the 5 ATVs we had on this trip. Luckily no one was too badly injured, other than my brother breaking his arm. This trip was quite a memorable trip and one we will talk about for a while. I hope everyone else had a nice thanksgiving break, because I know besides the accidents I had one of the best thanksgivings I have had in a while. By the way, I am sorry I wrote so much; I just had to get the whole story in there. I even had to leave some minor details out so as not to make it too long. Anyway, see you all in class!

LETS PARTY!!.....Wait….R u serious?!….You stole her panties?!?!

So last weekend my friends and I were all sitting in the seventh floor lounge late at night on Friday talking and just messing around. Somehow we were talking about Halloween and how we went to this dance party and had a blast. So we all decided we would have a dance party in the lounge the following night and try to get as many people as we could to come. We all got up the next day and went to the mall together. On our way there I was talking to Crystle about how weird it would be if she had someone stare at her on the bus and be a creeper. And I was wondering what other people would think. So I decided that when people got off the bus and new people got on, I would creep on Crystle and see what people would say. No one new got on the bus, so we couldn’t do our plan. Anyway, we all got off at the mall, went in shopping, and walked around. Once we were done looking around and had bought 2 strobe lights, the fun filled night started. We sat down outside a shoe shop in some comfy chairs and noticed that the shoe shop had a mini merry-go-round for kids and thought we should ride it. So Crystle, Jim, and I all went into the store and got on it. It was the funniest thing ever because people kept staring and looking at use. We only managed to make it around 3 times before a woman who worked in the store yelled at us that there was a weight limit and that we needed to get off. So we decided to head to the food court. While in the food court, we noticed Crystle had a bag from Victoria Secret and began to mix the idea of the creeper and the Victoria Secret bag. So we decided I would go out to the bus stop and stand nowhere near everyone else in our group and get on the bus separately. Once on the bus I stood up in the middle and eventually took the seat next to Crystle. I began to look over my leg into her VS bag and seeing what was in there. I ended up looking into it, and sliding it over my way without her seeing. But when she would look back she would slide it back “thinking” it was the bus moving it around. After moving it towards me 3 times, I finally took it and stood up and went to the back of the bus. This stirred up the front of the bus because they began to think I left because I heard them talking about me but then conveniently Crystle noticed her VS bag missing. They began to look all over for it and then David came back and accused me of stealing it. By this point I had already stuffed it into my backpack and had been just sitting there quietly. David and I argued for a few and finally I walked back to the front where I was helping them look under the seats for the bag. While I was looking David grabbed my bag and opened it and pulled out the VS bag in front of the whole bus. People’s jaws dropped as I began to deny it all. I simply said I did not know what they were talking about; for how would I have taken the VS bag if David was holding it? We all began to argue back and forth while people on the bus began to get involved. Much to my surprise, there were actually 3 people on the bus who were supporting me. One guy told me to calm down and forget about it and just sit and chill. The other guy fist pounded me from across the bus saying it’s a public bus and I can do what I want to. And finally the girl told Crystle she should get off the bus and stop causing trouble. Everyone else was either in shock just sitting there, or they were whispering to their friends to not get involved. Very few people where actually talking. So after playing everyone with this massive show, we got off on the first stop. Everyone got off while I sat there and then jumped off the bus before the doors closed. I went behind the bus and crossed the street. Once David and Shawn thought I hadn’t gotten off the bus, they placed their bags down on the ground and turned around to go back and get me. While they were turned around I ran across the street and surprised the whole group by taking some of the bags they had laid down on the ground and running down the street. A few people were just staring, while one man tried to be a hero. An Asian man turned around and I was running at him. He threw his arms out and was going to tackle me once I got closer to him. I couldn’t help but stop and laugh, which meant everyone caught up to me and once they did they all gave me a hug. The people around began to realize that it was all a joke. The bus then drove by and saw us all laughing and hugging and they all realized it was all a set up. I even had a few people come up to me and shake my hand for how real it seemed. They thought we were amazing at keeping a straight face and making it so believable. We all started to laugh and walk down the side walk. It made out night!
We then went back to the dorm and had a dance party in the 7th floor lounge. We had a huge speaker system, 2 strobe lights, a black light, and I DJed it. It was a ton of fun and we r going to do the sat night party in the 7th floor lounge every weekend. We partied from like 730-10 and then headed off to the EPCAT battle outside of Dx. The whole group of us went to Dx, but only 3 of use actually participated. The rest of us got food and chilled, watching the EPCAT people kill each other. Then we went back to the dorms and watched a movie. This concluded our epic night together. I think all of us hung out from 3pm until about 2am. It was a blast!

Randomness

Trash and such
I am not going to lie. There needs to be an easier way to take the trash out from the 7th floor of the Lee building. My roommate and I end up letting the trash pile up till we have 4 trash bags worth of trash piled y our door before we take it out because it is annoying to have to go down stairs and walk to the dumpster and throw your trash out every weekend. So chip and I usually let the trash go for a while until it gets ridiculous. Like tonight, its 3 bags stuffed full. I think they should have some kind of trash shoot that you could swipe your card on to open or unlock and then throw your trash in and it would fall to the dumpster. That would be so much easier! I also think it would be nice if the new elevators in this building would work. The new elevators have basically been messed up since they were installed. The other day while I was waiting for the one working elevator to come down, I asked the maintenance man working on the elevator what has been wrong with them and why they break down so much. The man replied with “Well they left some pieces off when they installed them and so now we are having to put those pieces on now.” I just agreed with the man, but once I got into the elevator it really hit me. We have been riding these elevators without all the required pieces?! Are you serious?! Hell, the other day I had to walk up 8 flights of stairs after going to schiffert. They had shut both down for at least an hour. I guess it is not that big of a deal if u live on the lower floors, but living on the top floor of lee sucks when the elevators are broken. Something I do like about living on the 7th floor is the view. Sunsets and sun rises are amazing to watch from my window, and yes I am sorry to say I have watch both during the week. I have had 3 nights where I don’t sleep at all, but otherwise I have been getting a good amount of sleep. Anyway, the sunrises and sunset are really cool looking especially since I can see lane stadium and castle which tend to reflect the sun off them. It is quite a site. If I could I would attach a picture, but sadly I don’t have one yet. Maybe in a later blog I will attach it.

South Park
So a tradition some guys on my hall and I have started is that for the new season of South Park, we are watching it in my room every Wednesday night as a huge group. I think we have about 8 people or so in my room; Sometimes more. This has grown from like 3 of us to people from slusher and vawter coming over to watch with us. It is a lot of fun and its gives us all one night to all hang out and see each other. It is also a lot of ours busiest days and watching south park and all laughing together is a good way to relax after the stress filled day. I really like the group of guys I ended up living with. Everyone seems really cool and chill and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. And on top of that I met Jessie and Crystle, who always come over and chill with all the guys here too and it’s a blast.

Homesickness
So I don’t know why but I have become extremely homesick in the past 2 weeks. I want to go home and get to see my whole family as soon as possible. I want to drive my car. I want to see my dogs. And I want to see all my friends who I haven’t seen in forever. I never knew I would be so homesick and wanting to go home but I have just had this feeling of not wanting to work and just wanting to go chill. Relax some and see my family. I really need that right now because I have been quite stressed lately.

Friends
For some reason I have a ton of friends who talk to me like crazy, ask for advice, and tell me I am amazing for always being there for them, but then they stop talking to me. They stop contacting me and act like nothing is weird. Then when I try to contact them saying how I haven’t heard from them in forever and all they say is how “the phone works both ways”. I have to say that is a phrase that bugs me the most. I know a phones works both ways and that I can contact you, but honestly you never tried to contact me. I don’t really know what I am complaining about right now because this is kind of random and I am up late so I am just starting to talk randomly. This was just some random thing that came to mind. It kind of bugs me too because they get mad at me for little stupid things like that, but when I get upset about stupid little things I am over reacting. I don’t get it. I guess that’s why I like the guys who I am living near this year because they are all really chill about stuff and never seem to get flustered about stuff. I think this is where I was meant to be placed because it has helped me to not worry so much about stuff in life and to just move on and life how I want to life. Not let others affect me to much in how I act in life. I think this is enough thinking for the night. Hope u enjoyed the few random things you read about and that I ranted about. Thanks for reading! :p I knows it is just because you have too, but I figured I would still thank you!

ranting....idk

We all have best friends. Those people we can go to and talk about anything and they will help us or talk to us. They will sit with us when we are bored, hurt, upset, happy, anytime! And they support us when we find something that will make us happy. At least that’s what I do for the people who consider me their best friends. My best friend here at Virginia Tech is Stephen and we have been best friends since like the 6th grade. We have basically hung out every weekend thru middle school and high school and even here we at least see each other once a day to do lunch or something. We have always been there for each other and we have never really fought, but for some reason the other day we got into a fight and didn’t speak for a day or two. But luckily we made up today. We got into a fight because I was going to visit an ex-girlfriend of mine and was going to rent a car on my friends UCarShare account. I told Stephen I was going and he told me I was wasting my time and having poor time management skill this weekend. That kind of bugged me when he said that because he always treats me like some child who doesn’t know what he is doing and he acts like he is all knowing and the most perfect person and knows exactly what people are supposed to do to be on track in life. Which pissed me off because anytime he wants to go home to see his girlfriend, I support him in that and I just say “yea it would be good for you to get to see her” because I know he knows what he has to do and can do it without me hounding on him to do it. But anyway I rented that car and as I was leaving he told me about hidden fees I didn’t see and instead of the price I thought it was going to be, $75, the prices was going to be almost $175! So I called to cancel this reservation for the car due to “family issues” and it worked out all fine. But since the account I was using was a girl I knew, when I called in to cancel it with a male figures voice they put a hold on the account due to “suspicious activity”. And once we cancelled that, we planned on going to UVA for Halloween to seen some friends we haven’t seen in forever, so we had everything planned out and I was supposed to reserve the car for our trip. When I went to reserve it, I couldn’t. The online system wouldn’t allow me too, so I called them and the man I talked to told me that the girls whose account would have to send in a scanned picture of her driver’s license and sign it. This will take the hold off the account and allow her to reserve the cars again. So now the account is locked down until she gets back in town on Tuesday and can send them a picture or her license that she has signed. So now I think the girl is going to be mad at me, everyone who was supposed to come to UVA with me is pissed (Stephen being one of them), and the people I was supposed to visit are pissed because I couldn’t come. And on top of that I have to use my sister car to go pick her up in Roanoke on Tuesday morning, because I can’t use the rented car to do that. So now my sister isn’t very happy with me either. Basically the simple act of me trying to rent this car and my best friend treating me like I am a child caused this fight. This fight also started the other night when I was driving two girls I know to Roanoke and Stephen came along with me to help me navigate. On our trip back he ended up flipping on me telling me that he doesn’t trust me to drive and that he doesn’t want to die and that I need to focus more. This kind of bugged me, but w/e. So then when we were planning on going to UVA, Stephen was going to drive because im am not allowed to drive, for reason right now I am not going to share, and one kid was like “yea, my parents don’t care if I go as long as I don’t die”. Stephen immediately responded with “hah, oh no. I am driving. You won’t die.” I stood there and was like, in my head ofcourse, “are you kidding me? Did u seriously just say that?” I was so annoyed by that point. I am not a bad driver; I just push limits more than other people do. I go a little over the speed limit, I may change lanes close to someone, or something as stupid as listening to music loud. I am not bad! I have been in more accidents then Stephen, but Stephen’s accident was worse than mine. All my accidents have been slight taps. I have hit 4 people. All 4 times I slightly tapped their bumper and there weren’t even scratches on the bumpers. People stop shot sometimes. It happens. But Stephen’s accident caused him to mess up his whole rear bumper and some of his rear side panel. So I don’t think anyone has room to talk in this situation. We have both been in accidents and we have both been driving about the same time. Just because he thinks he is a better driver doesn’t mean he actually is. I don’t know why, but it gets to me so much when people judge me on who I am and what I do, when they have their own faults and shit just like me. Who are they to talk? I don’t mind a simple, hey maybe what this a little, that can get you in trouble. Ok, thank you for telling me. But when u just rip me down and treat me like I don’t know what I am doing in life and that I am going to fuck some stuff up if you don’t step in my way, it bugs me more than anything else.
